Hi all
They’ve changed the rules completely these year for band 2 people. Band 1 people who automatically who get it - who’s on pension credit. Usually band 2 you could apply if you were in receipt of ESA and PIP etc, but now they’re working it out on how old your home will be… it’s really strange!
I don’t know if you need to apply or not or whether they will work it out automatically. I’ll try and take a look and get back to this thread for you.

Hello Matthew
This just keeps rolling on I have never received the Warm Home Discount, ESA + PIP HR Daily Living & Mobility I transitioned from DLA to PIP in 2019. I received a letter yesterday to advise me that I now qualify automatically, the reference at the top of it states LETTER TYPE: WHDS3. So that would be what exactly? Although I've figured out it means Warm Home Discount Scheme, what does the 3 mean? Sorry Gordon, me still being ever so slightly dim......... still.
It certainly makes a change, I'm actually concerned that this is in fact an error and certainly don't want BigBrother, aka HM Government, pursuing me in the future for repayment

Sue
Did you apply to your energy supplier for the WHD? If you didn't then you would not have received it.

Hello Gordon
No I didn't as all the information I could find said I was not eligible so I didn't pursue it. I'm trying to find out why I've received the HM Government letter to confirm that I now qualify automatically when I never did before? Also, although I've spent some time looking, I can't find out what WHDS3 refers to. I can find information on core group 1 & 2, for which I don't qualify but is there a core group 3?

Hi SUE CC
I did have a quick search on Google and found WHDS3; www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2011/1033/schedule/3/made but not sure if it is the same as on your letter.

Hello Gary
I sincerely thank you for taking the time to look for me. I'm still none the wiser, the regulation, if it's relevant, is dated 2011 and trying to read and make sense of it is beyond me. As I've never automatically qualified for WHDS I'm wondering why now, should I have received it earlier? I suppose I am seeking reassurance that neither HM GOV or DWP will be pursuing me for repayment in the future. Again, thanks very much Gary.
