I am in receipt of ESA income related and wonder if you are able to help. My husband and I have a property with a mortgage which we have part of the interest paid by SMI. My husband has Parkinsons and members of our family want to make our property more comfortable for him to live in which will include an extension. We would like to put two of the family on our deeds on the property do we need to contact the DWP to tell them this.

You do not need to inform DWP who you put on the deeds, if you are changing the mortgage then that is a different matter and I would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation; you can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
