Quick query was created by pwreck
Hello! I have never posted on any forum/fora before, so hope I’m doing this right.
My PIP assessment states 0 points awarded across the whole assessment. I believe this is not accurate. I wanted to ask how to prepare for a MR - should I request one first, then gather evidence, or vice versa? I just got a decision letter (dated 7the January though), so don’t want to waste further time. I believe my evidence (several consultant’s letters, independent medical assessment and various other medical evidence) has not been considered as the PIP assessment makes no reference to this, despite my own submission referring directly to it (eg: NHS appliances required to monitor my condition involving me in at least 15 hours per week).
So my query is: Does MR provide for further evidence/challenge of points made within the assessment? If so, how do I submit this evidence and at what point, please?
Apologies if I have done this post wrongly, in any way. I am a techno dinosaur! Many thanks for reading this/any help you might be able to provide. Best wishes.

Hi Pwreck
You asked this question on another post, and I moved it to a post of it's own and have answered it.

You are not a techno dinosaur - you don't know what you don't know! Don't worry about it.

Hi pwreck,
Just to say in my honest opinion, 0 points is not only inaccurate but almost an impossibility.
If any average person went through the descriptotors they would more than likely find something that they have difficulty with and pick up a point or two.
It may be something like not having the motivation to cook and only using the microwave, but this could be seen (in the eyes of GOOD assessor) as a possible disability and therefore score points for that section.
As I've said before, scoring zero points can arguably put a claimant in a stronger position than someone who has scored some points but missed out on an award.
I helped a friend of mine last year. We scored zero points initially, the MR failed and so put in for a tribunal hearing.
We pointed all this out and hey presto; he had a phone call from an assessor offering him enhanced in both components so no tribunal!
So go for it, my friend and please let us know how you get on.
All the best,
Regards,
Phrank.
