Hi Rita

When they make a lot of errors like the ones you mention, I think there's a good chance they have muddled you up with someone else they did an assessment on. It sometimes appears to happen when they do multiple assessments in a day. Although at least two of our members here proved that happened, though it's not easy to do.

I'm not saying you shouldn't point those things out because it's very personal when they get things wrong and the Tribunal panel won't be impressed if there are lots of errors, but my advice still remains the same to make sure that you're ready to show once more that you meet the PIP criteria for the Tribunal because that will be their focus. Yes, the assessor is supposed to consider safety and reliability issues, and as you have found, they often ignore them.

You can, while you're waiting for your tribunal date to come up, put in a separate complaint to IAS (Independent Assessment Services - they used to be called ATOS) about the quality of the report. Members have mixed success with complaints, but some people have felt it was worth it and had a positive outcome.

Hi I don't know if anyone has seen, but Fightback put a post on their Facebook page, IAS lost the contract for assessments moving forward I understand. Replaced with a different provider. Hard to know if this is good or bad news. Solidarity to all x

Thank you Rita, I appreciate the encouragement. And have you read the news item about how we are all to be blackened as workshy?! our daughter was a much-loved-[by the patients - because she was NOT a dragon] medical receptionist. The manager bullied her out of work when medical issues inc CFS got the better of her; you would hope for better in a medical place wouldn't you! Oh how much she would LOVE to be back doing that job, but lives in twilight due to 7 conditions.
And I accepted early retirement when offered, to care for my older OH with several health issues. I'd like to see any of the mandarins/jobsworths do a 24 hours on duty role indefinitely, even if it is for someone you love. Forum questions so often mention 'can I have PIP AND be a carer?' so there's a lot of us out here.

Oh Denby, take my love to you all. Neurological conditions are the least served by the medical profession because they are not well understood and there's no magic wands. There is the Equalities Act, however, but then fighting every day for everything becomes overwhelming. This government and the previous Labour admin have a record for covering up their vicious cuts to public services by using demonisation propaganda in the client media. I've been boning up a bit for my tribunal. DEPAC commissioned research into the effects of the cuts and sanctions on suicide rates in disabled claimants. But we are strong together, and we are pulling together and we do have allies in the able world. We also have amazing advocates, like yourself! Thank you for all that you do xxxx
