Change of flat was created by Sheila
I am appointee for my son. He is on IR ESA with enhanced support addition. He lives in a housing association flat. The flat is in poor state of repair and the manager wants to move him to the flat next door which has already been done up. Does this constitute a new tenancy, and a need to be moved onto uc, or simply a change of address?

Hi Sheila

Welcome to the forum.

You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum

Providing moving next door does not move local authority then it is just a change of circumstances ( change of address) and he will not have to move over to UC.

Remember he will need to notify all relevant departments that he has moved; DWP ESA, Local Authority, DWP PIP, utility companies (make sure he takes a photo of the meters before moving), water company and not to forget Royal mail, redirection of post.
