Hi all, any advice would be appreciated. A friend of mine is in ESA support group no job centre requirements. She had letter out blue saying she was being sanctioned for not attending appointments. Turned out someone had made a claim for UC in her name. So now her ESA has stopped and she can only claim UC even though she be worse off. Can they do this? When fraud is involved why can’t they continue the original claim?
So no income, lose of money, new medical and sick notes and assessments all through no fault of her own and some scum bag!
Does she really have no recourse?

Hi Akire24

Welcome to the forum.

You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum

I would advise your friend to contact their local Welfare Rights Organisation (WRO); you can find their local Welfare Rights Organisation to help them with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in their post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk The WRO will take all their circumstances into account and help resolve their situation to a satisfactory conclusion.
