DVLA and 50% car tax reduction was created by Shrimp
Hi, I hope I can ask this question on here?

I get standard rate mobility on PIP and can get 50% reduction on my road tax and have for the past 3 or so years (previously high rate DLA so got 100% reduction)
Does this site know if DVLA will ever make it easier to get our car taxed with the 50% reduction, you have to send several pieces of paperwork etc etc
My tax runs out on 1/4/23 and sent all paperwork to DVLA and it was signed for 10 days ago, I emailed and asked when the car would be taxed to be given a number which I have spent several hours trying to get through, looks like I might have to renew on line (again in full) and ask for a refund
I missed out on it last year as PIP review form never came through, so PIP was stopped and took months to get backdated
2 years ago DVLA lost all my paperwork and tried to charge me for a new logbook which they lost.

It is just a nightmare, I have not managed to tax my car without any problems since having the 50% reduction......

Hi Shrimp

You do seem to be a bit unfortunate in claiming your 50% reductions

your question is outside the remit of the forum, but we do frequently get post from members in connection with car tax and DVLA; www.gov.uk/financial-help-disabled/vehicles-and-transport

I am sure fellow members will give you supporting advice.
