Hi All
I have been on holiday to the USA, I went for three weeks but BA cancelled my return flight and the holiday turned into 27 days.
I was in hospital three times in the lead up to Christmas and my wife booked the holiday to give me something to look forward to, the holiday was really R&R sitting in the sun for three weeks really does me a power of good.
So whilst I was away a letter came dated the 9 of May requesting me to do a phone interview on the 15 of May, in the letter it says that I must answer the phone if I do not I may lose my benefit (PiP both on the higher rate), I am calling the DWP this morning but I don't want to say the wrong thing so I am really after what my options are, what I should and should not say to them.
I am not really worried about the interview as I have multiple things wrong with me including two types of blood cancer, COPD, Chronic Back and leg pain and as might be expected depression caused by the worry about all the ailments and COVID as I have little or no immune system.

I hope that you were able to get through to the DWP and explain your position and that they were reasonable and are giving you another opportunity to have an assessment.
If you weren't at home to receive the post, you weren't at home - and there's no way around that. As I said in my other post - emphasize that you only intended to be away for three weeks - because you didn't have to tell them you were going to be away.
