KABTT, thank you for your post. I am going to call CAB today.
I have been told by the work coach "when you transfer over from ESA to Universal Credit (UC) you are required to have a First Commitments Appointment. When we get the computer feed through from the older system (ESA), we will switch you over to the 'No Work Related Requirements' group (LCWRA) on UC"
I asked before what the time frame is for the paperwork switching over from ESA, and was told there is no time frame. Reading between the lines- I will have to engage with the job centre until they transfer me over?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Xepher,
The DWP have made it mandatory to attend a First Commitments Meeting. But after that you don't have to attend a meeting to discuss working or education or training. You can ask the Work Coach this and hopefully he will confirm that what I'm saying is correct.

Hiya. Thanks for the advice and support so far.
CAB told me to request a telephone appointment instead, which I did. The coach agreed this and reiterated it was mandatory, but now I have had a notification my appointment is cancelled.
Now, I can accept my commitments online, however one of my commitments is to complete my to-do list. The to-do list has 'tell us about your work search' in it, so I will not sign it. However, it says if I don't sign by October 17th I am not entitled to UC and will not be paid.
I've asked for clarification, but I'm so stressed and upset by this whole thing.

Hi Xepher,
I think you have said you have asked for clarification which is the right thing. Just send a UC Journal message to the Work Coach who interviewed you.

We are all sorted! It seems the complaint I put in triggered a call with the manager, who sorted it all out. It's not neccessary to see or interview me, and I've been able to accept my commitments.
Thanks so much for the advice and support these last few days, I'm so glad it's done and dusted now.
