Hi David and thanks for yr Reply. I applied for the new Scottish Carers Allowance but it was exactly as you gave said above so I’m no better off. They said I now have an “Underlying entitlement” I can use with my Pension but I have no idea what for. Would this give me , as a disabled lady any more income ?
As David stated in his post, you cannot claim LCWRA and Care element as a single person.
The underlying entitlement for carers allowance gives you an extra premium (£45.60 pw) when you reach state pension age and you apply for Pension Credit.
