Advice Needed: Self-Employment While Receiving PIP was created by Zebedee101

I'm in receipt of PIP.

I'm considering setting up a small online project that may generate modest affiliate income (likely well under £1,000 in the first year).

Are there any reporting requirements to DWP for PIP recipients earning trading income, and is there anything I should be aware of?

Hi Zebedee101

From a PIP perspective the DWP are not interested in your self employed status. They would only want to hear from you if your new employment was the result of an improvement in health.

Thanks David, that's the clarification I needed. Reassuring to know PIP isn't affected by starting self-employment in itself, and that DWP would only revisit on health grounds.
