hi I am going through dla with an apple hearing some time in may. with look ahead housing and care suporting my case.

I am conserned that my suport worker is trying to miss lead audult scocial services and outher professionals involed in my cases.
what should i do?
I have an assesment on monday for my care and housing needs, I do need help and moved to more apropriate acomidation.
I have damage to the nervs in my back and degenerative discs, so i have pain lots of problems walking balncing and it afects my left arm to, on power or grip.

Of corse i dont want to get no help but I allso olny want waht i actualy need,
My condition is verry varyable, I all ways find cooking a main meal as described in the dal pack imposable but i can cook things like omlets most of the time if the ingreadiants ar pre cut for me.
I do not feel that i need somone to make my brakfast as I am happy to have toast (i dont put the lids on jam ect) ready brake or yogart. so I feel that i would be fine with help once a day not twice as It would not be hard for a helper to assist me make up my lunch box for the next day and do the other things i cant like washing ironing ect at the same time.

I dont know what to do as my suport worker has asked me to show only my worset days ability, where i only have these days about 2 days a week when ican do next to nothing at the other end of the scale i have one day most weeks when i can manage without any help provided i dont try and do to mutch, I can't and will not lie about the work i do as im working 30hrs a week as a fitness instructor I love my job and have batled hard to keep it.

In the first instance, you may find the information you require in DLA resources section, under the DLA appeals heading which can be accessed HERE.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

If you don't want so much care from social services as they think you should have, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't try for the highesst possible rate of DLA.

Why not read up on Direct Payments and see whether they'd give you the flexibility to get the care that you want not what someone else wants for you.

thanks servior
this is sort of refecnec I need.

on a positive note my new GP was appaled at the lack of details in my medical records about my condition and the lack of care my former practice had shown to me stating that a casual obesrvation shows i can not walk in any way that could be considerd normal.

as a rusult i now have an emergncy referal to rehabilitation services been upgraded to a B on the housing list and advised that i should go for higher rate mobility and middle rate care.
