Would this be classed as work? was created by slugsta
I am currently employed until 20th October. My EAS claim will start from the next day. At the moment I earn a bit of pin money doing on-line surveys, it works out at something between £15 and £50 per month for an input of around 1 hour a day on average.

I have seen so much in the papers about 'benefits cheats' and I am terrified of ending up in court. Is it likely that the stuff I do would count as 'work', or even count against my WCA? This bit of money will really come in handy to provide the occasaional treat, but I will stop dong it if there is any suggestion that might be in my best interests to do so.

This may well come under the heading of Permitted Work, however, you need to inform the DWP of what you are doing, as only a DWP Decision Maker can confirm this.

if your claim is on mental health grounds, then I suggest you see an advice worker to see if they think that continuing with this permitted work might jeopardise your claim, it would be a shame to hartm your claim for such a small amount of earnings

No, my claim is on physical health grounds. TBH, I don't want to even put the thought into the decision maker's mind if I don't have to!
