and remember to explain it all as you would an 8 year old child, as their intelligence doesn't go much above that, if at all above?

Hi S,

I personally would go into as much detail as you think fit, in describing how your limitation fulfill the criteria of the relevant descriptors.

Don't assume that the DM knows anything, regarding resulting limitations from particular conditions, even though it may seem blatantly obvious to you.

The DM is not medically qualified, therefore "spell it out", and make it as difficult as possible for the DM to decide against you fulfilling the criteria of the descriptors.

I am afraid that there are still no guarantees though.

cheers

Yes, I have a WRO in my local CAB who has read through all my paperwork and said I have strong cases for DLA on both counts, but I don't know what he saw as being wrong with the DM's refusals. I have my own and have printed off this site from the DM's handbooks, so when he does come to do any submission I can check back with him to see if we agree on the points made. We really shouldn't have to be going through all this though ..... be well EddieP

Hi S,

They are trained by the DWP on how to apply a claimants personal circumstances to the relevant Regulations/Legislation/ Descriptors, of any particular benefit or allowance, and whether the claimant qualifies for said Benfit/Allowance, with reference to said Regulations, etc.

I do not know what qualifications a DWP DM may need at entry level to the DWP.
