ATOS need three weeks advance notice to arrange recording of the medical - our letter only gave two weeks notice - so phoned ATOS and asked for recording - they need three weeks notice to arrange this - so medical has been put back ten days to allow recording to be in place on the day
asked what happens if recording not in place on the day and was advised that a new appointment could be made
two copies of the recording to be made - one to be sent to the DM and one to be given to take away
anyone have experience of the new recording - info would be much appreciated

I was due to have my WCA 2 days ago but, like you, the appointment was postponed to allow more time to arrange the recording. I was told that there is only 1 set of recording equipment in use for the whole country and it has to be couriered between assessment centres!
Incidentally, I was told by DWP that this would be my first, and only, allowed re-arrangement. Which seems a bit 'off' as it was actually ATOS who have had to reschedule it...

Hi,
I accompanied a claimant only last week to a Work Related Assessment where recording had been pre-requested.
A Double deck recorder was started once we were all 'ready' and each introduced ourselves.
In fact the client (and nurse) seemed to both forget the recording was ongoing until I reminded the nurse to switch it off once the WCA was finished!!
Both copies taken out. One sealed with the clients name/nino, date etc on it for the DWP and one given to the client.
Overall it went very smoothly.
Pete

The assertion that there is only one set of recording equipment in use for the whole country and it has to be couriered between assessment centres, is absolutely rubbish in my view.
If the DWP in conjunction with Atos cannot afford more than one set of recording equipment, then things really have reached a new low!
