Thanks Gordon kind of clears it up but what exactly has changed with regard to what you can do within the work programme as opposed to what was expected before? I cant see reference to any differnce in the new Welfare Reform Bill.

Is the difference that you can now be made to go on work placements or workexperience whereas before you were not obliged to?

I don't thnk the WRB made the changes but I am referring to the work placement. The following News Items cover the topicIs the difference that you can now be made to go on work placements or workexperience whereas before you were not obliged to?

As a point of interest, from the last set of official figures available from June 2011 to October 2011, only 20,000 ESA claimants had been referred to the work programme. This represented a mere 5.5% of all claimants in receipt of (long-term) sickness benefits. See Table 1.1 on page 4 of :-
