I have been told if you are in your own home then non of these benefits are appliquable as Housing is for tenants only as is council tax benefit unless you get enough tax credit for working. But as her hubby is earning more than £7.500 pr annum then it could be clssified as you are not entitled to any more benefits, hence not beiing ablr to get the IR ESA. I too am facing a reduction of £4.800 if my appeal is denied to be placed on Support group, and then there is the DLA changes and if I fail that one anoither £8.000 goes with a blink of an eye as hubby earns £11.800 pr anum. This if you own your own house disallowes you to claim any further benefitds as they say in the calculation that £11.800 pr anum is above povery line for two people. Just have completed all such calculations with our CAB in case these things happen.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I really don't understand how the government get their calculations? Going on Annual figures my hubby earns £14,*** Gross but his net bring home pay is £12,108 as we live in a council property our yearly rent is £^,432 & CT £1227 Leaving us to live on £4449 when the benefits stop
But a couple on JSA Have an annual amount of £5,460 to live on with no rent or CT to pay.... where is the logic in that?

Council Tax benefit n/a if household income over £11.200 for two persons in the home as council tax calculator states. Have asked our local authority re this and done calculator with the CAB.
also if you use a room for your disability equipment and this then places you in the lowest band then there is no more they can reduce for you.

I found with friends that were in local authority rented houses, on IS,had council tax pd, reductions to cinemas etc, free dental and eye care and similiar, but on IB that was then and had your own property you were not entitled to that of the IS person. Now it looks as though all WRAG people are being treated less as a person and are being forced into employment regardless if you are too ill or not as you will get NO benefits after your 365 days on WRAG. Even after your alloted time span on WRAG CR ESA ,after your year, if still on WRAG = no benefit whatsoever
