ESA50 Going out question was created by Lady_in_bed
Hi there,
I am confused. I'm trying to fill in the ESA50 as an IB to ESA application.
On question 15 of 'Going out' it asks
Can you leave home and go out to places you
know if someone goes with you?
Y, N, or It varies
Can you leave home on your own and go to
places you don’t know?
Usually, Not very often, It varies
What a stupid choice of tick boxes or is it just me? I would want to select No for the 2nd question but there is no option to, not of them suit me. there should be a no option on there surely, could this be a miss print?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi, you need to try and make the form fit your circumstances, rather than trying to make your circumstances fit the form! Write as much as you need to explain how things are for you.
Have you looked at the ESA guides from this site?

Yes I have and it actually doesnt give a guide to that part of the question, just question 1
No tick box fits for q2 so I cant tick any because all of those answers will give a false impression by saying I can do something when I cant.
Would I be ok just ticking q1 but leaving the boxes on q2 unticked and highlighting why next to it and explaining in the box below? They wouldnt send it me back saying it hadnt been filled in fully would they?

That sounds like a good idea.

I'm surprised this hasnt been noted in the guides to be honest, perhaps they might add something?
It must be an error on the form but its on both the online and the paper forms just the same.
I'm feeling a bit like a guinea pig being an early ib to esa and we will have to take all the mistakes that will being made
