ESA50 Going out question

If you are talking about Severe Disability Allowance, then ESA is replacing this and once transferred, your SDA will stop. Thanks Mrs Hurtyback
Sorry for the long post before, I'll keep it in check in future
What would happen to the sda if I get put into the wrag group? will that go too?
With regard to the Premiums, do you also receive Income Support as a top-up to your SDA? If you do then you should also receive ESA(IR) as a top up to your ESA(CB) and this should allow you to continue to receive the Premiums.
See
What will I be transferred to?
What will I be paid?

Yes I have IS/IB/SDA/DLA at the moment. No faith that I will keep any of them at the end all of this though.
I have decided that even though I don't want to, it's probably better to call the surgery to ask the secretary if my Dr will be prepared to write a letter to send with the ESA50 stating why I cannot attend an assessment. I don't know what kind of response I will get as she doesnt really know in great detail my daily problems, just that I have family care and distric nurses because I don't go out.
I cant risk her putting on the form that atos send out to GPs that I can attend in a taxi but with medication as she has offered this before to help me to get to hospital appointments. I still did'nt go as the medication makes me very ill.
The last time I saw her was at a home visit about 14 months ago.
How long is it usually from when they recieve the ESA50 for them to telephone to make an appointment for an assessment?

Hi there,
I am confused. I'm trying to fill in the ESA50 as an IB to ESA application.
On question 15 of 'Going out' it asks
Can you leave home and go out to places you
know if someone goes with you?
Y, N, or It varies
Can you leave home on your own and go to
places you don’t know?
Usually, Not very often, It varies
What a stupid choice of tick boxes or is it just me? I would want to select No for the 2nd question but there is no option to, not of them suit me. there should be a no option on there surely, could this be a miss print?
This is not advice its just my opinion but it apply to someone who has difficulty in going out.
Going out.
Can you leave home and go to places you know if someone goes with you
Yes
No
It varies. (Tick this one)
Can you leave home on your own and go to places you dont know.
Usually
Not very often
It varies
Put a line through all of these and put never at the side of the tick boxes.
Use this space to tell us why you cannot always get to places.
Tell us whether you need someone to go with you.
This is an example of what you could put in the blank space.
I never go to unfamiliar places without someone with me-I just cant handle it.
When it comes to places I do know there are days when I can and days when I cant.
I dont like people looking at me and this has led to panic attacks even when when I am in familiar places.
The more anxious I am the more likely I am just to stay in.
I can never manage to go to the shops its just to much for me.
Hope this might help someone.
Good luck.

It seems to be quite variable, from a couple of days to 2-3 weeks.

Hi,
Im currently filling out my ESA form & came across this problem too... I decided to tick 'Not Very Often', as there wasn't the option of 'No' - but in the box I've written - "I would like to state, I've had to tick "not very often", as there was no other option for me. I would have ticked "No", as that is the true answer, but that option wasn't available"
I then continued writing about my difficulties (which is severe agoraphobia & other things)..... I felt that I had to tick a box, but explain my reasons, instead of leaving the boxes unticked.
Have to say, the stress this ESA process is causing me is immense
Really hope this has helped a little...
Best wishes, Debra x
Hi,
since writing my post, I've changed my mind & see that I was wrong to tick 'not very often' (even with a note underneath).... I decided to download the ESA Form & fill it in on the laptop... This has given me the opportunity to re-do my question & make a few more changes... I will take the risk & not tick 'not very often', but put 'No', as thats the truth... Can't think of what would be a better alternative to this question?
I did actually speak to my doctor today & she has written me a wonderful supporting letter - its made me feel a lot better about things xx
