Many thanks for all your replies and advice i am sorry for my ignorance but what is WCA? I did think to sit and wait as i am getting my IB but i am unable to sleep due to worrying about it. I will wait a few weeks and if i havent heard from them i will write and ask for an update. Your right Gordon 7 months is a rediculous length of time to keep people waiting all the stress and anxiety is a nightmare. I am worried to make a formal complaint incase of repercussions and im sure they are well aware of this.

Hi am,

WCA stands for Works Capability Assessment.

Cheers.

I'm sorry, anniemae, my fault for using the jargon!

The WCA is the Work Capacity Assessment - the 'medical' for ESA.

Hi MHB,

Not entirely correct. :)

The WCA is the whole process including the ESA50, etc, etc.

The "Medical" or "Face to Face" is part of the WCA.

Cheers
