hi to all, just would like to know if anyone had the same problem as myself, put in a request to have a copy of my GP records , firstly i was told i had to go through a solicitor this i said no to,and then i was told you cant have them because we have not got the manpower ???
so i was forced to go to the hospital for my hospital records at a cost of £40 i felt let down by the GP

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I haven't heard of this happening, you are certainly entitled to access the health information held about you.

I'm afraid there is no good answer to this, however, you can up the anti, by making a formal Subject Access Request for your records rather than just a phone or simple written request.hi to all, just would like to know if anyone had the same problem as myself, put in a request to have a copy of my GP records , firstly i was told i had to go through a solicitor this i said no to,and then i was told you cant have them because we have not got the manpower ???

If you put in a formal Subject Access Request and they still refuse then, in your situation, I would be inclined to take the matter further. Starting with the Practice Manager and then escalating to PALS and/or your MP if still not satisfied.
