If you apply for UC and are found fit for work after the work capability assessment, you will be required to look for and be available for work. You will usually be expected to look for full time work of 35 hours a week but this can be less in certain circumstances, for example if you have caring responsibilities for a disabled person or child aged 3-13 or have physical or mental health problems.
