I have been claiming pension credit guarantee for the past 3 years for my wife and I. My wife has just been awarded AA and apparently it is non means tested,so does not effect our PC, but I have been claiming IIB and although it states is also non means tested have had it taken off my pension credit. Can someone explain this please. thanks Bica

Hi B,
As Pension Credit (PC), is Income Related (IR), you have to pass the means test to be entitled to it.
AA is not classed as income with regards to a means test on any IR Benefit.
Although IIB is a non means tested benefit, it is not IR, it does count as income and is taken into account with the means test for any other IR Benefits such as PC.
