PIP awarded was created by tony321
I first applied for PIP back in early September, at that time I had an undiagnosed spinal condition which in January was diagnosed as Ankylosing Spondylitis. I hadn't heard from the DWP since then so I contacted my MP and had the ATOS assessment on March 21st.

I found the assessment very stressful especially the physical examination which the HP had to curtail due to the pain it was causing me. He could see how little movement in my hands and how I couldn't lift anything.

I got the DWP letter on Saturday which surprised me being so quick compared to others and I have been awarded standard mobility 8 points but nothing for living as they only gave me 6 points. I was really mystified as they gave me 0 points for dressing when the HP acknowledged I couldn't put shoes or socks on unaided.

I've been onto my council welfare rights now to see what I can do to get the living component.

I feel pleased I got the mobility but annoyed how they worked out the living component. Also I'd like to thank this site as without reading through all the advice and fact sheets I doubt I would have even got the mobility.

Hi l,

With respect to re-arranging your PIP assessment appointment, see this topic :

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?view=top...=10&id=100989#119743

If it is ATOS, you can contact them from here :

www.atoshealthcare.com/pip/

It may be advisable to back up any telephone request with a written one by using there e-mail contact also.

You will then have a paper trail to refer to.
