pip query

I wonder if you can help with my query about my DLA please. I had a renewal letter from the DLA on 15 March 2014 to say that I was awarded my benefit with the highest rate of personal care component indefinitely, and the lower rate mobility component also indefinitely.
I was wondering if you could perhaps tell me when I could expect The DWP to be in contact with me to apply for the changeover to the PIP benefit.

The latest information on this from the DWP simply states that current DLA recipients with Indefinite Awards will be invited to claim PIP "Sometime after October 2015".

Of course, we have a General Election before that date, so things could change.

Thank you so much for your speedy response. it looks like maybe it could possibly be 2016 even before I am contacted then, as I have heard there is a huge backlog.

Hopefully, you will not have to worry about PIP for at least another 15 months, but you can do some research on it in anticipation if you wish.

Yes, there is currently a huge PIP backlog, so "fingers crossed"
