ESA income based

I did I you said and wrote a letter to inform the DWP that friend had change of circumstances income had exceeded £16,000 in August. Then in Sept I wrote a letter to request a super session of ESA award as felt friend should have been in the support group & not the WRAG.
Up until today the friend had not had any correspondence from the DWP so I contacted them to make enquiries.
First advisor told me they had not received letter informing of capital increase. She also stated friend was still being paid ESA. She did state that he had been placed in support group but that he was still ESA IR so would not be entitled to any benefit.
She stated someone would ring to discuss further
Second advisor rang & stated letter regarding income had been received but they had not actioned this causing overpayment. However as it was official error they may write this off.
Confirmed he has been placed into the SG & stated this would be contribution based.
He should receive something in writing soon.
Many thanks for your advice.
Cannot always rely on the DWP to provide the correct information.
The system is so complicated & I won't believe it until I see it in writing.

Eight weeks is not bad at the moment. Congratulations to your friend.
