hi there i have been reading throu the DLA notes before doing my husbands from ; Now because i also get DLA i am worried about the fact that i al the one whom gets up to him 3 times a night when he has to use the bathroom, now its a matter of i have to because there is no one else thier to do so and he would not want anybody else we have been married 35 years and we look after each other,
How do i put it ACROSS to them its a part of life for us/me it has to be done so i just get on with it no matter how much it hurts me or how long it tke to clean up if neeed,
Whether you receive DLA or not is not relevant to your husband's DLA renewal, so you should not worry about this.
You need to explain why he needs to get up, why he cannot use an appliance instead of the toilet, why your assistance is needed to help him to the bathroom, it is essential that you show this assistance is actually required, so you need to document what problems he would have without it, help that is provided but not shown to be required is unlikely to count towards an award.
