Disability premium and carer's allowance

I'm wondering why I've not been awarded Enhanced Disability Premium, perhaps because I get Carer's Premium?

I agree with MHB and Gordon,

I cannot see any reason why your ESA would reduce in May 2015.

Besides, the annual uprating of benefits take place at the beginning of April each year.

There is clearly some kind of error here, which you need to chase up for a proper explanation.

Re : your EDP, this can and should be paid as a top-up to your ESA, even at the assessment rate.

The EDP and any other ESA Premiums can only be paid if you are entitled to Income Related (IR) ESA, as all ESA Premiums are paid as IR ESA.

This is why Gordon suggested that you fill in an IS10 or ESA 3 Form so that the DWP can financially assess you to see whether you are entitled to IR ESA.

If you are going to phone The ESA Tel No :

THE ESA PHONE NUMBER DWP : 0345 608 8545 Press Option 3 for ESA.

Do so as early as possible, you will only speak to a Call Responder initially, so you need to request an escalation to a Customer Manager, this will involve them ringing you back.

I'm definitely not entitled to Severe Disability Premium because I live with my family. I think I should be entitled to Enhanced Disability Premium- the only form I got was for Severe Disability Premium- do you know if there's any reason for this?

It's difficult to get someone to phone for me and I can't make phonecalls but I will try to ask someone to do it tomorrow.

Is it definitely possible to get Enhanced Disability Premium alongside Carer's Allowance (for someone else)?

As previously advised by Gordon, : Here. & Here.

Being in receipt of The Carer Premium would not in itself stop you also receiving The EDP.

This is why you need a full and proper explanation from The DWP.
