SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT was created by jigzy
After waiting a few months for a mandatory reconsideration to take place and going through the process of providing more information etc today I have received a copy of the supplementary report requested by the dwp from the health care professional . In the original assessment my son only scored a over total of 5 points after being on high rate care for a number of years this was a shock to me so requested a reconsideration , today ive had the report and its changed from a overall 5 points for care to 11 points :) im happy with this outcome but am wondering do that mean that the dwp will change their decision or not ?? I will be patiently awaiting the decision also do it mean if they do change the decision that I get back payed from the date I origanny applied ??

The DWP Decision Maker is not bound by the assessor's report but they do usually follow it, 11 points would result in a Standard rate Daily Living award equivalent to a DLA Medium Rate Care award.

If an award is made then it will be backdated to when your son's DLA stopped on the assumption that he was invited to claim PIP.

Hi great news :D after asking for a mandatory reconsideration a while back today ive had the news that the decision has been changed and my son has now been awarded standard living daily allowance and low rate mobility , its still a change from high rate care dla and low mobility but am happy hes not lost all help , without the help of benefits and work i think i may have had a meltdown when dealing with the emotional side of asking for a reconsideration etc ,,, so thank you all who give advise i will be staying a member x

Congratulations on getting the Decision overturned.

Unfortunately PIP takes no account of a claimant needing care day and night, so claimants with what I'll label moderate needs 24 hours a day are likely to lose out, whereas those who have high needs but only during the day or night will likely be winners.
