PIP Update & ESA Renewal? was created by Mathew
Hello forum, I would just like to let you guys know I was awarded Enhanced Daily Living and Standard Mobility for mental health disabilities until 2018 with a review in mid 2017. I would like thank B&W forum for giving me advice and help
My question now is what can I do to best prepare myself for my ESA review which is scheduled for December 2015. I know that's quite far away but as I have been awarded PIP for so long even though they are not the same benefit I do feel they overlap in some areas. Any advice would be amazing.

Congratulations on the award and thank you for your comments on the site.
In regard your ESA;
- Review the current ESA Claim guides
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa1
- Download and start completing the electronic version of the ESA50
Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire
- start reviewing your available medical evidence, speak to your GP and others HCPs to see what support they will provide.
- Try not to worry too much about it, December is still a fair way away, there is a possibility that the review will be delayed, there may be a new Government with new policies on the matter.

Thank you for the reply Gordan, will my PIP decision be able to be used as supporting evidence?

In principle, but I would not rely on it, by the time it is used it will be over a year old, and whilst there are similarities between some of the criteria for ESA and PIP for the vast majority they are quite different.
