War Pension and Veteran Benefits was created by Chris
Hello there I am a War Pensioner, disabled and receiving Benefits. The problem I am facing is that veteran Benefits have different names compared to the named Benefits that civilian receive.
I went into my local NHS Dentist showed them the list of Benefits that I receive and was given the go ahead to have Free Dental Treatment. I then get a letter from NHS Dental Services telling me I'm not entitled to free treatment. I have to be on Income Support, I receive Unemployability Supplement plus other benefits associated with being a disabled Veteran.
If anyone out there can advise please let me know. I did call the Veterans Agency and they didn't really want to get involved. I am still waiting for the Dental Services to make a decision.
Thanks
Chris

I am sorry but we don't support benefits provided to Armed Forces personnel, I would recommend that you contact the British Legion.

I am a war pensioner, last year. Because of wp and sap plus pip and esa I am not entitled to dental or medical costs. It is all down to your income. MOD really screwed those gaining a wp. Prescriptions cost me circa £50 every two months.

Chris, although it seems that you do not automatically qualify for free dental treatment etc, you might be entitled to this if your income is very low.

There is some information here -

We used to have a moderator Pete who was an expert on war pensions etc, but sadly he passed away in 2014 in his early 40's.

I'd advise you to look at this link : PENSIONS FOR VETERANS
