PIP finally awarded was created by toriar
My daughter received her PIP award letter today - standard care and standard mobility - we are thrilled to bits as it's been a hard slog.
She applied in March, had her medical in November, turned down in November with not enough points. We put in a MR pack including the fact that 6 weeks earlier she had been assessed for the support group in ESA and also pointing out that the assessor was truly awful and hadn't even read some of the letters from her doctors as evidence as well as belittling her responses and laughing at her.
5 weeks on from the MR submission she has been awarded on both care and mobility. There are still discrepancies but we're not going to take it further.
I just wanted to write this to encourage anyone in our situation to go for it - we had nothing to loose and they were so wrong in their initial decision. We did put in pages and pages - really we had prepared for a Tribunal at this stage so perhaps the decision maker could see we were serious and weren't going to give up.
I would just add that we did try to involve our MP but he was totally unwilling to help in any way.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all - advisers and other claimants - the questions and answers and guides have been so helpful to me in learning all about this and preparing to fight for my daughter.
