DLA and it's replacement PIP are not affected by the claimants savings, assets or income.

For Income Related ESA there is no effect for assets and savings up to £6000, above this figure there is a £1/week deduction for every £250 in excess of the £6000 up to a maximum of £16,000 above which entitlement to the benefit ceases.

Savings includes all bank accounts, current and savings and any similar accounts, assets includes shares, ISAs, Premium Bonds or anything similar, finally any cash you have is also included (this is not a definitive list).
