We are aware that the DWP have been making similar requests to claimants receiving ESA, but this would be the first we have heard of in regard to DLA, especially as your mother is over the age for a transfer to PIP.

I am afraid that I cannot shed more light on the purpose of the interview, if your mother is restricted to a wheelchair I would ask for the meeting to be moved to her home at an acceptable time, you should also be able to insist on an agenda for the meeting.

Hi mb,

As Gordon suggests you should re-contact them !!

As a matter of interest, does the letter mention :

Performance Measurement Visit, Compliance Interview, or Benefit Review ?

hi Gordon,
thankyou for the reply, wedid call them but they just said that they will call at the time agreed as we asked for a home visit but they insisted they would give telephone call it still means someone will need to be with my mum as she is deaf and can get confussed by questions.
i shall call them again and insist on agenda and high light her age.
thankyou

Thanks mb,

Please let us know as many of our members have received appointments for, Performance Measurement Visits, Compliance Interviews, or Benefit Reviews.

This being the case, they will be checking to see whether any of Mum's circumstances have changed.

However, the vast majority of our members receiving such letters have been in The Support Group of ESA

You need to make it clear to them that Mum has Mobility and other limitations !!
