In WRAG, facing first work focused interview was created by Charles Britton
After initially being turned down for ESA, i went on to win my appeal( with the help of this forum and the B&W guides, thank-you very much), but now I am in the WRAG group and soon to go to a" Work- focused interview for ESA".

What pitfalls might I encounter in this process?

Please bear in mind that there is no realistic prospect of me actually working. Also, I would rather delay the appointment for a few weeks because of health problems.

Have a look at our guide to avoiding ESA sanctions in the ESA section.

You are considered to have Limited Capability for Work and cannot be asked to work or to seek work, but you can be asked to attend WFIs, to perform Work Related Activity and you may be forwarded to the Work Programme.

Any activity you are asked to do must take into account the limitations that result from your conditions,

If you cannot attend the WFI at the moment then you need to contact your JC+ advisor, they may be willing to defer the appointment or to carry it out over the phone, however, any latitude is at their discretion and you can be sanctioned for failing to participate.

Many thanks, Gordon. That guide is very useful, but I don't like the prospect of explaining my medical problems to non-medical people.
And maybe having to keep repeating it.

Unfortunately the JC+ staff do not have access to all of your information on the DWP computer systems so it is a necessary evil, you don't have to go into complete detail about your problems, only as far as is necessary to get across your point.

It turned out that JC + were happy to conduct my WFI over the phone, after I explained how hard it would be for me to get to their building.
The woman dealing with me seemed very reasonable about it all. Phew.
Now for the interview itself...
