“Orientation aid” means a specialist aid designed to assist disabled people to follow a route
safely.
For a blind person this may be a white cane, I believe that there are audio feedback devices as well or a tactile map.
Deaf people can use a red & white cane.
I've avoided satellite navigation devices as the DWP guidance refers to specialised satellite navigation devices and it is therefor reasonable to assume that this not encompass devices generally available in the High Street.
