Hi. Need some advice. Husband suffers with atherosclerosis cvd anxiety and depression which he has for the last 10 years continually needing medication and has been referred to a cpn, phsyciatrist mhn. Paid 50 pound for doctors notes and sent all relevant info as additional evidence. As he wasn't on his antidepressants at the time of his f2f they ignored all medical evidence and only assessed him on his atherosclerosis mandatory reconsideration agreed also due to no specialist input. He has since been back to doctors and is now back on antidepressants and being referred to a cpn. I am appealing but do I need to report a change of circumstances also ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi
If the medical notes show a history of intermittent drug use for depression then that shows an ongoing problem which may sometimes need medicating but isn't 'cured' as such.
Of course the stress and strain of the claim process may have worsened his condition which has necessitated going on drugs but I don't think this has to be reported as a change of circumstances as such, just an update to the claim. It would probably be best to get a letter from the GP explaining the use of the anti depressant drugs and that it has been necessary to start prescribing them again due to the stress of the claim process if that is what has necessitated the prescribing or explaining what has if it is not the stress of claiming.
If the medicial evidence explained his on off need for medication then they shouldn't have ignored it all but they are looking for reasons to fail people. You need to put together a case for taking it all into consideration which you may be able to do taking into account what I have suggested above.
The MR also regularly confirms the first decision. This process was introduced to try to reduce appeals NOT to help claimants in any way.
