Thank you!! was created by Ann Griffin
I have just received the outcome of my son's change from DLA to PIP. He has Asperger syndrome and ADHD so I knew I had to make a good case for him to at least maintain under PIP what he had under DLA. I was concerned that it would be really difficult to make the case and so used the PIP guides and took my time and added sheets. I included his care plan as it is the only evidence I could give as he doesn't have a named social worker and our GP, whilst good, is new to the practice and doesn't really know how his condition impacts him day to day. I battled with ATOS about which centre I was prepared to take him to and managed to get a taxi authorised as I was having to attend a town I didn't know and was reluctant to drive, find parking and keep my son relatively stable during the journey. I am really pleased to tell you that despite my concerns my son has been awarded the enhanced daily living rate and standard mobility for an ongoing period. Interestingly he scored no points for communication which is the basis of his disability! Thank you for your continued help and good guidance, I am sure it made a difference especially in the face to face with the "Disability Analyst" who was a physiotherapist by training and not an expert in autism as I had requested in the accessibility criteria. I hope other people will find the guides as helpful as I have.

I will continue to subscribe as I am sure I will need your guidance in the future.

I really pleased to hear that you were able to fight your way through the system to realise a good award. Well done.
