Time Period For Completion Of PIP 1003 Form was created by Mike Wilkinson
Hi all

I'm new to the forum and joined recently in the knowledge that I would be receiving the PIP How Your Disability Affects You Form as I attempt to switch from a life time award at the higher rate of DLA to PIP.
My query relates to what is the experience of other members in the relation to the timescale allowed by the DWP for returning this 40 page document.

My form arrived this morning 05/12/2015 and the return date is 27/12/2015 which is a Sunday and taking Christmas and Boxing Day (Bank Holidays) into account and the Christmas mail backlog effectively requires the form to be posted back on Monday 21/12/2015.

This equates to an effective period for completing the form of 2 weeks !.

I know that the ESA Work Capability Assessment Form has a return period of 4 weeks which seems reasonably fair but 2 weeks seems a little on the short side for such an important document.

Any comments and advice would gratefully received

Regards and a Happy Xmas to all

Mike

Hi,

Welcome to Benefits and Work :)

If your forum name is also your real name, you may wish to change it to maintain some anonymity.

This can be done quite easily by following the instructions on this FAQ :

There are provisions in place to allow a 2 week extension to the return deadline date of The PIP 2 Form where appropriate.

Several of our members have obtained such extensions, including This One.

I had just over 2 weeks to fill out the form. I sent it back recorded delivery. It takes them ages to send it out. The date that's on the letter that comes with the form is never the date you receive it. Sorry.
