FAILURE TO ATTEND PIP ASSESSMENT

I have a PIPs assessment on Friday but i am very unwell with a chest infection and don't think I would be well enough to attend and answer the questions as I am coughing such alot it's hard to speak plus I feel so weak the antibiotics have not helped yet. Unfortunately this is my last chance for an appointment change as my first assessment centre was so far away I eventually managed to get a local assessment centre but now this happens.
When I rebooked my last app they did warn that I could not change again - and that I would be classed as "Failure to attend" and paperwork go back to DWP but did not say what happens after that! Would my claim be dismissed and I would have to reapply?
Sorry really worried I will have reapply and start again. Would appreciate any help.

The DWP are very strict about this, if you don't attend then your file will be returned, they should ask if you have Good Reason for not attending, but if they don't accept those reasons then your claim will be closed and you will have to start from scratch.
If you are being transferred from DLA then this will be closed as well although you will get four weeks run on.
If you can't on the day then at the least you should try and get a Fit Note or letter from your GP saying that you were too ill to attend.
