Hopefully you have found and read the PIP guide to claiming which will guide you through the process.

The nature of the new system is that it doesn't concentrate on particular conditions but on how your helth affects you in carrying out everyday tasks so you need to work your way through the form and answer which of the descriptors in each activity fits your wifes situation and get supporting evidence from all health professionals and others involved in your wifes care.

Especially the letters and medical docs, both my ESA and PIP relied heavily on the medical evidence. ESA assessment was mainly confirming the medical evidence and PIP used and cited it all with minimal ref to the assessment other than to confirm what the specialist and med evidence stated give it a score for areas not supported. Those areas mostly scored 0 even though some very clearly should have got a score.

Evidence, link everything, treat it like you would an academic assessment. Effectively turn it into a thesis, point to the evidence in each statement. Use letters and statements from every one you come in contact with, nurses, doctors, specialists, counsellors, partners, friends.

Eg. Say why surgery is not possible and link to evidence from doc records etc
Say why it is permanent and link to someone saying that.

I have FMS and RA amongst other things and TM is part of my package.
