3 questions about PIP was created by Lynsey
I am really confused and it must be due to information ovlerload and reading different things

Once and for all so i understand this can someone possibly tell me:

Is the Health Practitioner at the PIP assessment supposed to read your form?
And if so, are they meant to read it before or after they interview you?
(Because I dont thin kmy guy read it at all and now Im thikning maybe he wasn't meant to)

Is the Decision Maker supposed to read your form or do they just get the HPs report?

I think my head is going to burst from trying reading all the different threads.

Hi Lynsey

It might be easier to keep your posts on the one thread to avoid confusion.

The assessor is supposed to read all the case notes before the appointment so they have a clear idea of what questions they need to ask to clarify the info provided. This includes all submitted medical evidence in support of the claim.
Unfortunately it is becomng obvious that some assessors are not doing this. Surprise, surprise!!

The DM is also supposed to read everything before coming to a decision but, again, it is clear that they don't and mostly just take the assessors report and make the decision accordingly.
On the downside this is all wrong but on the upside it makes winning an appeal easier when you take apart their reports and point out all the inconsistencies due to not doing their job properly.

Thanks this is what I thought.

I just wanted to check before I say 'emmm isn't this idiot meant to be reading my form' and then it turns out I've got it wrong.

It's covered in section 2.6.6 of the PIP Assessment guide.
