Hi , I have a client who ticked they could walk over 250 meters with aids. Its obvious she cant. She didn’t understand now far 250m is and was relating to her ability in a wheelchair. She uses a crutch, wheelie trollies or manual wheelchair if any period of time standing required. This was written by her on PIP but the 250m box has been the decision maker not to offer any mobility. She was awarded daily living component. How do i best make reconsideration or appeal? Will new medical letters that state she cannot walk over 250m be accepted by appeal? Thanks
Hi You need to measure how far she can get with and without her aids. You can state that she didn't have any idea of how far she was actually saying she could walk/move. You could get her doctor to write a letter confirming the actual distances maybe and confirming she over estimated her ability.
