PIP medical ask for home Face to Face was created by Stan Hodgson
I hope someone can help, I ask for a home visit due to my PTSD, I had a Doctor write a letter stating the fact that I could not attend the centre where it was held the medicals.
I was informed of Athos that I cannot have face to face as one of the questions I answered was in question you may be violent. myself am not a violent person and my wife would be present to, this went on for a long time until they did an assessment without seeing me and using the evidence they had.
I have had the PIP back with zero for everything and my Motability reduce to the lower rate, I asked for it to be reviewed and just received it back with the exact same report back zero for everything looks like I have to appeal but worried that because I could not make the medical and the appeal I would get rejected again.
could anyone shine any light on my predicament.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
An appeal will look at your claim from scratch, the fact that you did not have a face to face assessment may in fact be to your advantage.
If you are considering a Paper only appeal, then I have to warn you that the success rate is far lower than for one that you attend, however, your attending may count against you, so you should give some thought about this.
If you opt for the Paper hearing then it is critical that you ensure that you have described your limitations in regard to each of the PIP activities in as much detail as possible.
I would start by referring to the PIP Appeal guide this will explain how you can request the appeal, it has links to the form you need to use and an explanation of how to complete the form.
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip
Next go through the PIP Claim guide to make sure that fully understand the criteria against which you are being assessed, many of the descriptors have multiple elements and you need to meet all of them if you are to score points.
Because there will be no formal date for the hearing, you need to ensure that everything you want to say is included in your submission, also, you need to stick to the four week deadline to send your submission to the Tribunal Service, once you have received a copy of the DWP's one.
If you have more questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Hi Stan
You should consider making a formal complaint against being permitted a home assessment.
It appears from recent posts on this forum that home assessments are being denied for a variety of made up excuses that will not hold up to scrutiny by discrimination and human rights laws.
You should also consider contacting your MP regarding the refusal to grant you a home assessment.

Hi Stan , it appears you are indeed not alone in this type of discrimination, My Husband is experiencing the same type of response, as it seems Capita are trying the same tactics, by guile in my Husbands case because , even though I have written to them 3 times requesting a home based assessment. they seem to be unwilling to engage me on the subject of providing a home assessment under the equality laws.
They are so far completly ignoring or willing to acknowledge my request, simply stating that they have insufficient evidence, and then contradicting themselves by saying they have not yet read the supporting documents ! !
They then go a step farther by saying that if my Husband cant attend a face to face at a venue outside the home then they will have to base their assessment on the information we have provided , which they said was insufficient. - even though they have not yet read it !!!
It beggars belief that they can be so breathtakingly off handed with people.
I intend to go to the wire with these people if thats what it takes.
Good luck and keep on fighting them all the way !
