Got letter backdating carers allowance was created by janet
Some good news got a letter stating they are awarding carers allowance backdated to April this year. We both receive carers allowance now for one another.
As the carers allowance is calculated into our overall money ie given with one hand and taken with the other I had thought this would too but no it shows an increase of 33.00 per week so happy days. xxx

Hi j,
Good news for Xmas !!
As you can't receive full CA with ESA it looks like you are both receiving 2 x The Carers Premium instead.
Quite normal under your circumstances !
