pip hcp report was created by slcook10
My mum has just received my pip reconsideration back and they have upheld the original decision so she is thinking of going to appeal going to I have asked 5 times by letter and twice by phone for the hcp report and she still hasnt received it what can I do.
She has a large hernia were my stoma is placed and the stoma bags don't seal and regularly fall off her GP sent a letter informing them that it is the hernia that is causing the bags to leak and fall off not the bags but pip said in reconsideration that the hospital should change your bag and then there will be no problems
She suffers rom depression anxiety and panic attacks which her gp explained in letter and she takes medication but is triggered easily and then cant control
I also argued about the budgeting decisions as she can go shopping ( I take her) but cant cope with housing council tax other household bills as she finds anything official overwhelming & has ended up in serious debt my partner has taken over my bills and payments etc as well as arranging a dro with CAB pip said she has a bank account (standard post office account) and she can go shopping and she has no mental health problems so she can manage them her self
she suffers from asthma & has had to move from her home into a flat as she couldn't manage stairs or bath she also suffer from postherpatic neuralgia which causes severe pain as does the hernia
she lives on her own as my sister has moved from home to live in Cyprus and before she moved she helped her an awful me and my partner help her with meals all extra washing taking her out, as she doesn't like going out on her own unless its somewhere she knows well as she has had panic attack and fallen and also if she has an accident keeping check that she is eating as she locks herself away when she is not well all her bills & correspondence and if it wasn't for us I don't know how she would cope & we struggle as we have a young family and both work full time We also end up buying the extra bedding clothes etc (she also suffers with bowel incontinence) and the gp said all this in the letter and that her condition is ongoing and not going to improve she is totally stressed out which is causing her health to be worse is it worth appealing it she says it makes her feel like she is begging Please could you give me some advice how to proceed is it worth going to appeal

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
I'm afraid we cannot give such detailed advice as to whether she should appeal or not, this is a Decision that only she and you can make, however, as she does not appear to have received an award so, providing the experience of doing so would not effect her health, she has nothing to lose by doing so.
I would start by referring to the PIP Appeal guide this will explain how you can request the appeal, it has links to the form you need to use and an explanation of how to complete the form.
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip
Next go through the PIP Claim guide to make sure that fully understand the criteria against which she is being assessed, many of the descriptors have multiple elements and she needs to meet all of them if she is to score points.
If you have more questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
