MR contact was created by Johnny
Reading through the PIP MR guide it states that, 'If this decision maker cannot change the decision in your favour they will telephone you to discuss anything which is unclear...' 'The decision maker will try 2 or 3 times to contact you by phone. If they are not able to make contact they will carry out the reconsideration without any further evidence...

Firstly, 'If this decision maker cannot change the decision...', does it mean they will not make a call?

Secondly, as my home phone number no longer functions, I placed a mobile number and my email on the PIP1 form. I assume the DM has access to this info and will use common sense if trying to contact me?

Hi Johnny

It looks to me (I hope I'm not wrong) that IF there is to be no change to your award, the decision maker will attempt to contact you to explain the reasons WHY she/he can't change the award. Obviously if they can't contact you, any decision will have to be based on the evidence they already have, without any further input from you.

If there IS to be a change, you will presumably be informed of any change by mail - this should let you know why the decision has been changed, by how many points it has been changed, and what length of award you have been given.

I would assume that since you have added your phone number to your PIP form, there will be no reason for telephone contact NOT to be made. If you are worried about this, contact DWP and check for yourself?

Good luck.
