I Recieved the copy of the face to face assessment I asked for today and after reading through it my wife and I are absolutely gob smacked. For a start there are so many contradictions it's an absolute joke for example on receiving no points for preparing food she has stated that I am unable to chop and peel , lift anything in or out of the oven or hob, stand for more than a couple of minutes due to pain, am at risk of falling in the kitchen, although I have a perching stall she states it's un safe because the kitchen is so small and I trip on it. She has said that if our daughter is unable to come in then we are unable to have a hot meal but still she puts can prepare and cook a meal unaided. For the entire form it contradicts all the way through. However the biggest insult she has put down on every single one of her opinions is that because I am a carer for my wife it is likely that I can do every single one of the tasks. Hence why I Recieved no points at all. The one thing she completely failed to put down and believe me she was completely aware of this that, 99% of the care I give to my wife is for her depression, anxiety and problems dealing with people. I have written a very long repliy going through every contradicting comment and everything she has said that I should be able to do because I am a carer for my wife. We really was very upset about this because frankly it belittles my disability. I was given absolutely no points at all in opinion and that is definitely wrong. I am now really hoping that they will look at every single point again and take it all into consideration as I don't understand that she has put that I can't do activities including the tasks she asked me to do, and saw difficulty in me doing these even at points telling me to stop trying as I was going to fall , the difficulty she saw that I had with pain, walking, being out of breathe and many other things but then say because I care for my wife then I must be able to do everything. Of course I could fully understand if I was physically helping my wife but I'm not it's actually the other way around I was on DLA for 6 years, and now it has come to switch to PIP it seems nothing at all is wrong

Whilst it is important for you to address the issues raised by assessment report, you will not receive an award unless you can show that you meet the criteria for one, so I would go through your PIP2 form with PIP Claim guide and make sure that you have shown that you meet the criteria for the activities that you expected to score points for.
The first stage to challenging a Decision is for you to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, this needs to be done in writing to the DWP, within one month of the Decision, to the office that dealt with your claim, have a look at our PIP MR & Appeal guide for details of the process and template letters that you can use to make the request with.

Have received my mandatory reconsideration today and it has come back the same as before no points at all for either car or mobility. I am very upset about this as I was on DLA high mobility and low personal care and over the last couple of years things have got so much worse. I have decided not to appeal but to apply for PIP again with as much information and proof that I possibly can I really can't face going to appeal purely because I have really big problems with confusion that will only get worse along with other symptoms under stress. So here we go again fingers crossed and I will definitely be using your guides

Hi
You have got the standard reply to a MR.
I understand your logic of applying again but if you don't get it will you take it to appeal?
Surely its better to use our guides to bolster your current claim and bite the bullet?
Have you tried to get some help? I posted a link to turn2us and Bro posted one to another source that may help. You could also try looking for a charity which helps people with your health condition(s).

Thank you for that , over night I have been thinking about this hard I have found a charity near us that I am going to ring on Monday as I say the only reason I can't face a tribunal is purely because I get so very confused, my wife is brilliant and does everything she can do to help me. By saying I Recieved a standard reply to my MR does that mean that basically whatever I sent in extra (which was obviously read ) they just completely disregarded it? This really is criminal isn't it. I am going to go and read through everything about the tribunal now and reconsider my thoughts

Hello
I just want to thank everyone on this forum for the advice, guidance and information provided. I had my hearing today and my appeal was allowed. From 0 points DWP decision to enhanced points for both living and mobility. I am in floods of tears of joy, I can't thank everyone enough. I have been quietly reading all comments about persevering with my claim and that was what kept me going. Now it's just a matter of waiting if DWP accept the tribunals decision and make the payment or whether they appeal? I was just so overwhelmed at knowing I was believed in all that I have said about how my disability effects me. That I know is the hardest part.
Thank you all once again, I may now be able to have at least more than an hours sleep tonight, then again that is wishful thinking.
