PIP Phone call was created by Lawrence Johnston
Could anyone help me please I had a phone call at 6.30pm on the 19 January and the man on the phone did not give his name or who he was working for but asked me for my name, address, post code and NI number, I refused as I thought it was a scam but I find out the following morning through the DWP that he was from Capita and I had an appointment for the 11 February I told the man in DWP what had happened and he said he would have done the same as me. Have they broken any rules by doing this as I had not had any paperwork at all from them.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

You certainly did the right thing.

I would be surprised if they had not broken their own procedures for contacting claimants.
