I was fairly sure I read on here somewhere that you receive 2 or 3 letters prior to your child turning 16, one informing about pip and the other 1 or 2 inviting an application.
However the pip appointee pack I just received (on the same day as the Dla award letter!) states that my son will receive a letter after he is 16 inviting him to apply for pip.
Does anyone know for sure which it is? It is such a shame as he has just been given a 2 year Dla award, but within 6 months we will be reapplying for pip, so the longer the delay before we have to do that, the better.
Hi It is not unusual for the guidelines to say one thing and the DWP do something else. I think you should take the letter at face value and wait for them to send the letter. As you have been his appointee whilst he was under 16 you maybe need to look at the law in this regard and decide if you are continuing in this role. Perhaps you can get advice on this from someone with knowledge in this area. I'm afraid we do not have the specialist knowledge on this forum.
